70 chechen militants will stand trial

The main department of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Northern Caucasia completed the case "The War", concerning the participants of illegal armed groups, Nickolay Khazikov, the head of the Main department of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Northern Caucasia said. According to him, 70 militants will stand trial. The criminal case concerns all the crimes committed by the participants of illegal armed groups in the territory of Chechnya since October 1999. 352 rebels are amnestied. They were involved in the bands by force and didn't take part in committing murders and other grave crimes, "Itar-Tass" announces.
