ESTONIAN VESSEL TURNS DOWN LATVIAN HELP

Estonian sailors seem to show the example of a long forgotten behaviour characteristic of the Soviet times. They may drown, but will accept no help from the outside, even from an equally democratic country as Latvia is referred to. The Estonian cargo vessel Kapten Konga, stranded near the Latvian coast, flatly refused to accept help from Latvian rescue services, IMA-press reports. Kapten Konga were carrying timber, and it sprang a leak. The captain decided to strand the vessel.
