17.7% OF RUSSIANS SUGGEST TO RECOGNIZE CHECHEN INDEPENDENCE

59.9% of Russians insist on the military campaign in Chechnya to be continued. Those are the results of an opinion poll conducted recently by Russia’s Independent Research Centre ROMIR. 20% of those polled think it necessary to pull the Russian troops beyond Chechnya’s administrative border. 17.7% of the respondents suggest to pull the troops out and recognize Chechnya’s independence. 9.3% proved undecided, IMA-press news agency reports.
