Telephone Time Rate to Be Introduced in 2001 The Head Department of the Russian Anti-Monopoly Ministry has adopted the method of telephone tariffs calculation for the whole country. 60% of the current minimum monthly base rate for using the phone was taken as a basis of the new tariffs. Thus, about 6 kopecks (about $0.002) will be charged for one minute of using the phone, officials of the Communication Ministry reported. The new tariffs are to be introduced in the 1st quarter of 2001 in Moscow and in the whole country – before end of 2001, NTV reports.
