DOCTORS REFUSE TO GIVE TIKHONOV AWAY

Olympic champion Aleksandr Tikhonov charged with plotting to kill Kemerovo governor Aman Tuleyev will not be discharged from hospital by the end of this week, as it was planned earlier, Rostislav Genzel, head of Cardiology Department of the Novosibirsk Region’s Hospital, has said. In the doctor’s words, Mr. Tikhonov, apart from hyper tension, has displayed a number of “surgical-profile diseases.” According to RIA Novosti news agency, a consultation is to be held today to define the ways of further treatment. Mr. Genzel has not ruled out Mr. Tikhonov’s undergoing a surgery shortly.
