On Tuesday Vladimir Putin will hold in Urengoi (the Urals) a conference on development of the gas sector, the president said at the traditional conference with government officials in the Kremlin. The head of state noted with satisfaction that the industrial development of Russia's largest gas deposit, Zapolyarnoye, had started a few days ago. In 2005 it must reach its maximal output of gas - up to 100 billion cu m. Vladimir Putin called it "a very important event." "These volumes must 'close' the deposits which are already becoming exhausted," and will make it possible to use gas for domestic consumption and for fulfilment of our export obligations, specifically those relating to the Blue Stream, Putin said.
