An exhibition, called "Travelling Round the World" and devoted to the 50th birthday of world famous Russian traveller Fyodor Konyukhov, opened on Tuesday in Vladivostok. It consists of three sections. The first one exhibits a hundred pictures, the majority of which were done during travels. The second one is biographic. It acquaints the visitors with dangerous travels of Fyodor Konyukhov. The photographs show his ascent of the Everest Mountain, his travels in the Antarctic, Arctic, the World Ocean and to the North Pole alone. Part of the exhibits, such as the skies on which Konyukhov reached the North Pole, his wrist-watch and the bicycle on which he crossed Russia from Petersburg to Nakhodka, are supposed to put up for auction with the aim of collecting money for new extreme adventures. In 2003 Fyodor Konyukhov plans to travel along the Great Silk Way on camels.
