Russia's Voronezh Region (a region to the southeast of Moscow) is facing a hemorrhagic fever epidemic. As many as seventy people, including seven children under 14, have been hospitalized here with symptoms of hemorrhagic fever, report regional health officials. Forty-two of the patients have already had their preliminary diagnosis confirmed. However, the epidemic focus has been almost contained by now, says Mikhail Chubirko, Chief Doctor of the Voronezh Region.
