Colin Powell Arrives In Tashkent
The US Embassy in Tashkent has announced that Secretary of State Colin Powell has arrived on a short working visit to Uzbekistan. Mr. Powell will meet Uzbek President Islam Karimov, Defence Minister Kadyr Gulyamov and Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov. He will hold a series of consultations on how to combat terrorism, while he will also discuss how to rebuild war-torn Afghanistan. Colin Powell will visit the non-governmentl Centre of Public Education tomorrow. The US Secretary of State is due to leave for Bishkek on Saturday afternoon.
