The World Bank is planning to allocate USD 250 million to Ukraine in the near future. This was announced on Saturday, February 8, at a press conference in Kiev by Luca Barbone, the World Bank's director for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova. According to Barbone, the money will be used to develop Ukraine's economic infrastructure and help the most needy sections of Ukrainian society.
The World Bank opened an official representative office for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova in Kiev on Friday. The office is expected to offer support to humanitarian programmes in these countries.
