US threatens Iraqi civilians

In its failure to find Weapons of Mass destruction in Iraq, the USA has turned in its desperation to the Iraqi civilian population, asking them in e-mails to indicate where the weapons are hidden “by light signals”.

Written in Arabic, evoking the message issued by Lord Kitchener to the British in 1914, (“Iraq’s future depends on you”) the e-mails have been sent to Iraqi civilians and military figures and state that if an Iraqi citizen indicates where the Weapons of Mass Destruction are hidden, the citizen and his family will be protected, but if not, there would be “grave personal consequences” and anyone who is involved in the use of WMD will be considered a war criminal.

The e-mail campaign follows the dropping of hundreds of thousands of leaflets in the no-fly zones.
