Rescue works have been completed in the flood area in Russia's south, and the reconstruction stage has been launched, officials in the administration of Novorossiisk (a port in the Krasnodar Territory) said on Tuesday.
As of today, the systems of energy, gas, and water supply have been almost totally recovered in the region affected by the flood. The work of municipal transport has been resumed in Novorossiisk.
The problem of energy supplies in the Abrau-Dyurso and Tsemdolina settlements remains unsolved. There are many wet houses there, therefore if electricity is switched on, people may get electric shock. Roads are being repaired, storm-water drains cleared.
The epidemic situation is under control in Novorossiisk, water is regularly tested, wells are chlorinated. All epidemiological services of Novorossiisk are on high alert.
The people made homeless by floods are housed in hotels and hostels of the Novorossiisk Sea Academy. The municipal commerce department is responsible for supplying hot food to them.
The sum of 1,000 rubles per family will be allocated to all the victims of the flood from the municipal budget, and 2,000 rubles (30.86 rubles = 1 euro) per person - from the territorial budget. The precise amount of aid from the federal budget is still unknown, the question is hanging in mid-air.
Preliminary estimates suggest that the damage caused by the flood and tornado makes up 1.7 billion rubles.
