Horror in Argentina

A bridge has collapsed in Patagonia, southern Argentina, as a group of 70 schoolchildren were crossing, sending some of them hurtling down into the freezing waters below.

The children, aged 14, were crossing the bridge when it gave way, sending the victims crashing down into the freezing Chubut river, 1,200 km. south of Buenos Aires. It is believed that the wooden structure supporting the bridge collapsed, since the bridge was not supposed to be used by more than three people at a time.
