Finnish Lemminkainen Construction Company to Build Three Industrial Plants in Russia for Stora Enso

The Finnish Lemminkainen construction company intends to build three industrial facilities in Russia for the Swedish/Finnish Stora Enso concern. According to the STT information agency, a plant for the production of corrugated cardboard will be built in the town of Arzamas. Two saw mills will be built in the northwestern parts of Russia. The combined estimated value of these projects comes to EUR 25 million.

The construction of the plant in Arzamas will begin early this month. Before the end of November 2003, the plant is expected to become operational. The construction of the two sawmills will also begin shortly. The one to be built in Impilakhti, the Republic of Karelia, is expected to go into operation in the summer of the next year and the one in the village of Nebolchi, 200 km from the city of Novgorod the Great, by the end of 2003.
