Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia was opposed to being held responsible for the regulation of the Ukrainian crisis.
"I always have a suspicion that they want to shift responsibility on us, they want us to pay extra for something. We do not want that. Ukraine is an autonomous, independent and sovereign state," Putin said in an interview with German television channel ARD.
According to the President, he always feels "annoyed and disturbed," when others say that Russia has "special possibilities" in the resolution of a crisis. As an example, he resorted to the situation around Syria, RIA Novosti reports.
"We have heard it many times that Russia holds the key to the solution of the Syrian problem, that we have special abilities in solving some other problem, a third problem or the Ukrainian problem. I suspect that they want to shift responsibility on us so that we pay something extra for something. But we do not want that," said Putin.
