International National Security Forum to Take Place in Moscow on November 11-14

The Interpolitekh-2002 international national security forum will be held in Moscow between November 11 and 14. It is being held in conjunction with all of Russia's different armed forces. The exhibition will feature over 400 foreign companies, which will display equipment, technology and services on ten different themes. Each theme will concentrate on anti-terrorist actions by law-enforcement agencies and other government departments.

According to Igor Sevalkin, the head of the Russian Interior Ministry's Department for International Cooperation, an Iranian delegation will be taking part in the forum for the first time. In February a Russian delegation took part in an analogous exhibition in Iran, where an agreement was signed on mutual support for such events. Sevalkin added that during the visit it became clear that Iran, which is in quite an isolated position, has a developed defence and special technology industry. He stressed that it was not yet clear exactly what the Iranians would be displaying in Moscow, but nevertheless 'one can confidently say that the main aim of Iran's participation in the exhibition will be to organise the production of special technologies in Iran jointly with Russian experts.'

The opening ceremony will be held on November 11 at 11a.m. On November 15 there will be a demonstration of police and military equipment.
