Palestinian witnesses report large blast at Hamas compound

A large explosion struck a Hamas compound in central Gaza City on Thursday, Palestinian witnesses said.

The cause of the blast wasn't immediately known, and there was no word on casualties. Israeli military officials were not immediately available for comment.

Israel has threatened "harsh" action in response to repeated Palestinian rocket attacks.
