Seven Turkish soldiers wounded by mines presumably set by Kurdish rebels

Seven soldiers were wounded Friday when two military vehicles struck mines believed set by Kurdish rebels in southeastern Turkey, authorities said.

Six soldiers were injured when their vehicle hit a mine near the town of Kulp in Diyarbakir province. Another soldier was wounded in a similar incident near the town of Beytussebap of Sirnak province, the AP reports.

More than 37,000 people have died in clashes between the military and autonomy-seeking rebels since 1984.
