Two police commandoes (OMON men) perished and two were wounded as result of the blowing up of a Kamaz armoured truck on a fougasse, a source in Chechnya's law-enforcement bodies told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
According to him, the incident occurred on the Grozny - Mozdok motor road six kilometres from Grozny on the day before.
"The explosive device was based on a 152-mm shell. The truck belonged to the OMON under the Interior Directorate of the Lipetsk Region (approximately 400 km south of Moscow)," the source noted.
He also said that captain of the policeVladimir Zayev, commander of an operations platoon of the OMON of the Lipetsk Region's Interior Directorate, and the driver - police Ensign Pavel Galutskikh perished as a result of the explosion.
Two more militia commandoes were wounded and hospitalized.
