Stavropol territory authorities take measures to prevent terrorist acts

"In connection with operational and preventive measures taken in order to stop terrorist activity," Interior Ministry's Main Department in Stavropol Territory (Southern federal district) disseminated an appeal to local population, heads of enterprises, organizations and government offices requesting them to increase vigilance and organizational preparedness in order prevent aggravated crimes.

Law enforcement bodies ask to heighten security at large industrial, municipal and governmental facilities, and in public places.

It is suggested that patrols of civil vigilance teams should be put in practice again and local civil vigilance posts should increase their activities. Population should maintain reliable and sufficient communication with the local police.

According to the police, such measures are dictated by the operative situation in the region.
