The Taliban says that seven air raids were made on Herat in western Afghanistan, but did not specify on what targets and how many losses were sustained. A Taliban spokesman also reported to Afghanistan's Islamic news agency that bomb and missile attacks were made on the Taliban positions in Jalalabad. The Taliban spokesman stressed that one bombing was made when a motor column with invited foreign journalists was heading for the Qadam village 40 kilometres east of Jalalabad. The village has been fully destroyed by air raids. A correspondent of the al-Gezira television station reports from Kabul on an on-going exodus from the Afghan capital. Afghans burn humanitarian aid dropped by Americans from aircraft, he said.
