Reports on the Angarsk tanker of the Primorie shipping company being in distress in the sea of Okhotsk, circulated by certain media on Thursday, are untrue, the company's directorate told RIA Novosti. In the Angarsk tanker, sailing to Magadan from Nakhodka, only one of the engines has failed. "The ship has lost speed but all its life-support systems are OK", said the shipping company. Fuel from the Angarsk has been pumped into the Shkotovo tanker of the same type, which will ship it to Magadan. At the present moment, the Daugava tanker of the same shipping company has taken the Angarsk in tow and is leading it to Nakhodka. Also, the Rubin sea-going tug has taken sail from the port of Kholmsk in the Sakhalin island. "Safe towing during frequent autumn storms can only be ensured by a specialized vessel, such as the Rubin", said the Primorie shipping company.
