A spokesman for the Pakistani embassy in Moscow, Ghulam Bajwa, has announced that Pakistan welcomes a cease-fire agreement brokered between warring Afghan units in Kandahar. According to him, this step "to a great degree will help the implementation of the Bonn agreements and the establishment of a stable peace in Afghanistan." Bajwa also expressed his hope that the entire Afghan nation would make every effort to fulfil the Bonn agreements in order to rebuild the war-torn country. "The government and people of Pakistan whole-heartedly support this initiative of the fraternal nation of Afghanistan," the embassy spokesman said.
