Chechen residents detained in Ingushetia on suspicion of involvement in bandit formations

Several Chechen residents have been detained in Ingushetia (the republic in the North Caucasus) as they are suspected of being involved in bandit formations.

As RIA Novosti learned on Friday in the Republican Interior Ministry, three Chechens were detained during operative and research activities in the village of Achaluki, Malgobeksky district. The starting device of the Igla anti-aircraft missile system and 1,440 shells of different calibre were confiscated.

That day policemen stopped a Gazel mini-van at the check-point near the settlement of Ordzhonikidzevskaya, Sunzhensky district. The Kalashnikov gun, two silencers and a mask were discovered in the car. The driver and two passengers escaped. One of them, a resident of the town of Argun, the Chechen republic, was caught immediately. The others are being searched for.
