Obiora Embry: Our ignorance about what the government does will allow for more laws to be broken

"To announce that there be no criticism of the President, or to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." - President Theodore Roosevelt

It seems that our ignorance about what our government and political leaders do behind closed doors will once again allow for more laws to be broken, damage to the environment, weapons of mass destruction used on both civilians and soldiers through U.S. forces, and decrease the chance for PEACE in the world because of the current White House resident's "war against terror," unless we put a stop to our "corporament's" continuum of violence.

To put a stop to the violence at the hands of our political leaders and corporations, we will need to become informed about the covert relationships with Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein and how these relationships relate to many of the current conflicts. We will have to quit believing all of the propaganda thrown to us by the media and begin to think logically and critically about what we are told. We will need to look beyond the rhetoric of threats and begin to ask questions and formulate opinions after gaining insight from several different sources.

Then we will need to take action and change our government and its policies, so that peace can happen.
