Malaysia Condemns War Against Iraq

Malaysia, the country that chairs the Non-Aligned Movement /NAM/, which unites 116 countries, has harshly condemned the US-led war against Iraq.

The Malaysian authorities issued yet another warning about a possible outburst of Islamic extremism, which they said would be directed against Western targets.

On its part, the Malaysian information ministry announced the end of the United Nations. "The world is free to take any action. Anybody may attack anybody, and the signal came from the USA," said a statement issued by the ministry's leadership. "It is the beginning of an era of a new interpretation of democracy as formulated by the world's most democratic states, the USA and Britain, who allowed, should one wish so, to use force against any other country. Any nation is free to follow Washington's example."
