Russia's Anastasiya Myskina is Glad That Australian Open is Over for Her

Russian tennis player Anastasiya Myskina, who has been defeated in the quarterfinals by Kim Clijsters from Belgium, is glad that the Australian Open Tennis Tournament is over for her. Myskina said as much at a press conference that followed the "Australian Open" quarterfinals game.

"I am so glad that everything is over and I can go home now," Anastasiya Myskina said. "Within a period of 10 days I got very tired but nevertheless very satisfied with my performance at the Australian Open." The Russian tennis player was defeated in the quarterfinals by Belgian Kim Clijsters 2:6, 4:6. Nevertheless, her performance at the "2003-Australian Open" is the best one in her career in the Grand Slam series.

Today's opponent is the world's best tennis player, Myskina added. "Kim has lately improved her game. She makes fewer mistakes. In my opinion Kim can win the Australian Open Tournament, because she has already defeated American Serena Williams - her next opponent - in the finals of the 2002 World Championship," the Russian tennis player commented.

The semi-finals of the women's single group of the Australian Open Tennis Tournament turned to be American-Belgian. Clijsters, seeded 4th at the Tournament, will play against the world's first racket American Serena Williams and Justine Henin-Hardenne /5th/ will play against the other Williams sister, Venus /2nd/, for the finals.
