Russian president commiserates with valery lobanovsky's relatives on their loss

Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered his condolences to relatives and friends of prominent Ukrainian football coach Valery Lobanovsky on his death. This information has been disclosed by the press service of the Russian President. Valery Lobanovsky, the coach of the Kiev Dynamo football club, passed away on Monday in the regional hospital of the city of Zaporozhye. On May 7th, he was rushed to hospital with an insult to the brain following a match between Zaporozhye football club of Metallurg and Kiev Dynamo. Valery Lobanovsky was a legend of Soviet football. Kiev Dynamo headed by Lobanovsky frequently challenged Moscow football clubs subsequently becoming the champion of the country. His team was the first in the history of Soviet football to win the Cup UEFA Winners' Cup. Following the disintegration of the Soviet Union, Lobanovsky worked abroad. Having returned home, he headed Kiev Dynamo and the Ukrainian national team. Poor health forced him to step down from the post of the national team's coach and to concentrate his efforts on Kiev Dynamo, which he would always make the champion of Ukraine.
