Czech Vladimir Vujtek To Become First Foreign Coach In Russian Hockey History

Czech hockey expert Vladimir Vujtek will be training next season the Russian team Lokomotiv from Yaroslavl, south of European Russia. 53-year-old Vujtek signed a contract with the club for a year. Therefore, he is to become the first foreign coach in the history of Soviet and Russian hockey. Vujtek will be a successor to former Lokomotiv's coach, Pyotr Vorobyov, who failed to take the team into the Russian Superleague's final last season. Last season Vujtek trained the Ocelarzi team from Trsinec, that won the 9th place in the highest league of the Czech championship. Vujtek said in an interview to RIA Novosti that he thinks it to be a great honor to work with one of the best teams of "the outstanding Russian hockey."
