The first tropical storm of the season has killed more than 100 people across Central America, triggering flash floods and mudslides that have swept away homes and destroyed roads, officials say.
Tropical Storm Agatha also forced tens of thousands of people to flee their homes as it whipped heavy rains across Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Mexico, NEWS.com.au reports.
The first named storm of the 2010 Pacific hurricane season first slammed into the Guatemalan coast near the Mexican border on Saturday.
"Many places are cut off but it appears the weather will improve a bit today and we will be able to airlift supplies to those places. The road network is badly damaged," Alvaro Colom, the president of Guatemala, told a news conference, Aljazeera.net informs.
