Little girl falls into fish tank and drowns in Moscow apartment

A 12-month girl fell into the floor standing fish tank and drowned.

The accident took place in the north-west of the Russian capital, at about 2:00 p.m. in building 15 in Mitinskaya Street, Argumenty newspaper said.

The girl, born in 2010, fell into the fish tank and drowned, officials said.

In two weeks, the child would have turned 12 months, Life News reports. The girl's mother, aged 25, was home, but she did not keep an eye on her daughter properly.

Earlier this month, an absurd tragedy, which also led to the death of a child, took place in the city of Omsk.

A father, being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, put his two-year-old daughter on his shoulders. The man could not maintain his foothold and dropped the daughter on the asphalt road. The girl died because of the injuries.

The incident took place at a bus stop in the beginning of October. Investigators said that the 39-year-old father was carrying his daughter on his shoulders. The man stumbled and fell down on the asphalt road. The man landed on his back. The child suffered a serious cranial injury as a result of the fall and subsequently died at hospital, " SuperOmsk news agency said.
