Bubble gum: hazardous for whites, favourable for blacks

Most of bubble gums may pose a threat for human health, experts at the Novosibirsk State Medical Academy assert. The point is that bubble bum contains phenylalanine, an supplementary amino acid (a sweetener, in other words) used by many producers to substitute sugar. Having entered the organism, phenylalanine may frustrate the hormonal balance, the Novosibirsk scientists are quoted as saying. This may be especially dangerous for children and pregnant women. In babies, it may cause growth retardation, nervous system disorders and even debility. The blue-eyed, white-skinned and white-haired are most at risk. It turns out that the blondes lack enzymes capable of decomposing and transforming phenylalanine, so the latter leads to excessive adrenaline and toxic substances stored in the body. At the same time, this amino acid is but necessary for blacks as an indispensable component for pigmentation, the Vyorsty newspaper reports.
