First international piloting air show opens in Moscow region

The air show will include balloon parade and speed competition between a plane and a car

The first international festival of pilot groups opens in the Moscow region on August 13th. Best pilots from Russia, Italy and France will show their piloting skills during the daily program of the festival, general director of the air show Igor Novikov told RIA Novosti.

The festival will take place from August 13th to 15th in the town of Zhukovsky, the Moscow region. Pilot groups of the Russian Air Force 'Russian Knights' and 'Martins' will partake in the show on four Su-27 and six MiG-29 planes. Two other Russian groups 'Rus' and 'Sky Knights' will fly on eight L-39 and five L-29 planes.

Acrobatic group Frecce Tricolori of the Italian Air Force will be a guest of the festival. They will perform on ten MB-339 and French Mirage 2000 aircraft.

A Russian aircraft-building firm will demonstrate unique pursuit planes Su-30MKI, MiG-29M2, MiG-29UB.

In addition, Aeroastra light aircraft will grace the sky along with the daily parade of balloons. Spectators will also see a unique show entitled “What is faster: a plane or a car?” Porsche cars will compete with MiG-29 pursuit planes.
