Competition for the best memorial of the Kursk submarine sailors announced

One of these days, the vice-governor of St Petersburg, chairman of Economical Development Committee, Sergei Vetlugin carried out a sitting on creation a memorial of the sailors who had died in Kursk atom submarine wreck. The Committee is the customer of the memorial which should be erected in Serafim cemetery, were there are 32 graves of the sailors. The programme of the competition has been worked out. According to this document, the participants of the competition should immoralize the memory of the sailors with the means of monumental art and architecture. Everyone who wishes could participate in the competition, including some groups. The design which gets the first prize will be recommended to realization. The date of the competition and the list of the jury participants will become known very soon.
