The Kazakh Emergencies Agency and the Kyrgyz Transport Ministry are planning to toughen traffic regulations for the motorway linking the cities of Bishkek and Almaty. This in particular refers to banning bus traffic on this motorway at night.
This information was disclosed on Saturday by the Kazakh Emergencies Agency. Such a decision was taken in view of the last Thursday traffic accident when a bus travelling from Lake Yssyk-Kul had turned turtle into a ditch leaving 11 Kazakh tourists returning from a vacation on the lake's bank, killed.
According to the Kazakh Emergencies Agency, the Almaty authorities are currently checking all the city's tourist agencies that sell tours to Lake Yssyk-Kul.
