The wires of the Kursk sub and their installation into the dock of the Roslyakovo factory /near Murmansk/ will not affect the environmental safety of the Kola Bay, Dmitri Matishov in charge of the radiation safety of Murmansk Marine Biological Institute reported Tuesday. In his words, any water pollution at the depth of 20-25 metres will be carried away to the open sea within 24 hours and washed out 1-million-fold. According to the results of the Institute's monitoring of the Kola Bay, the radiation environment is within the norm in the area.
