The driver, Vijay Pal Chaudhary, allegedly attacked the secretary with a knife on Saturday after she fired him for unsafe driving, the Press Trust of India news agency quoted Ravindra Yadav, the deputy commissioner of police, as saying.
Yadav said the seriously injured secretary called her son immediately after the incident and he informed police.
Police rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she was declared dead, he said.
The driver was arrested on Sunday, PTI said.
Yadav couldn't immediately be reached for comment, reports AP.
