The exercise focuses on crisis operations, including rescues during natural disasters, evacuation and accommodation of refugees, said Rear Adm. Gheorghe Marin, who heads the Romanian navy.

It is taking place in the port of Constanta, as well as in Romanian and international Black Sea waters.

The 15 countries participating in the exercise are members of NATO, Partnership for Peace and the Mediterranean Dialogue. The last two groups include several non-NATO countries in Europe, the former Soviet Union, North Africa and the Middle East.
