Officials in the western Austrian city of Linz said Wednesday they were considering legal action against a businessman who put up racist posters disparaging black Africans and extolling Austrian pride.
The signs, which read "We are proud Austrians" and "Black Africans, leave us alone," appeared earlier this week on the windows of the business, a shop that sells leather goods. The name of the owner was not immediately known. Police and the city council in Linz, about 200 kilometers (120 miles) west of Vienna, were reviewing local regulations to determine whether there were grounds for possible charges, Austrian media reported Wednesday.
The local office of the Green Party demanded that the owner immediately remove the offending posters, reports the AP. I.L.
