Seven Russian universities opened the education fair in the Russian Science and Education Centre in the Indian capital.
"This fair is held in India for the third time already. It has made a good showing and provides potential students all over India with information on the Russian education and attracts most talented youth to study in Russia," Tatiana Kolakovskaya, a spokesperson for the department of education programmes of the Russian foreign centre of the Foreign Ministry, told RIA Novosti.
She expressed satisfaction with Indian youth's interest in Russian higher education institutions. According to her, in the morning more than 100 young people visited the centre and every tenth wished to study in some particular university.
The choice of the country to study in depends on financial position of the will-be student, an experts of the Education Abroad Indian organisation told RIA Novosti. For instance, if in Russia an Indian student has to pay 1,500-2,500 dollars a year, in India he will pay 3,500 dollars a year in a similar university.
In addition, Russian degree certificate has shown itself at the international level. For instance, the World Health Organisation and UNESCO put the Moscow Academy of Medicine and the Russian State Medical University on the 2nd and 3rd places in the list of 100 world best medical higher education institutions.
