Iraq's former Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz has surrendered to U.S. troops on his own free will, Fox News TV reports, referring to U.S. Administration spokesmen.
According to their information, the negotiations on his surrender had started Wednesday in Baghdad with mediation of an unnamed third party. The negotiations passed smoothly and the ex-Deputy Prime Minister surrendered to the Americans.
Tariq Aziz was the 43rd in the list of 55 most wanted Iraqis. In the pack of cards, as the U.S. military call the list, he corresponded to the eight of spades.
According to Fox News, Aziz may be a most valuable source of information, specifically about the fate of Saddam Hussein and his sons and the whereabouts of mass destruction weapons which, it is alleged in Washington, Iraq possessed.
