Peacekeepers in Afghanistan to take part in investigating murder of Vice President

Specialists from the peacekeeping forces in Afghanistan will take part in investigating the murder of Haji Qadir, Vice President of the country, governor of the Nangarhar province and Minister of Social Works. This decision was taken at the conference of the interim government of Afghanistan on Monday.

Haji Qadir, a prominent Pashtu leader, one of the closest associates of the head of the Afghan state, Hamid Karzai, was killed on Saturday in broad daylight at the central entrance to his ministry. This is already a second murder in the Hamid Karzai administration. Last February, Minister of Civil Aviation and Tourism Dr. Abdul Rahman was killed at the airport.

In this connection, as the Afghan News Agency Bahtar reports, Hamid Karzai said that the experience of the investigation of the murder of Abdul Rahman had shown that the national security forces did not have any skilled specialists for successfully solving such cases. For this reason, he believes, it is necessary to attract foreign specialists to this investigation.
