Russia's President Vladimir Putin hopes that the Moscow meeting of the Eurasian Economic Community Interstate Council will become an important step in developing relations between the EurAsEC members (Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan), he said when opening the enlarged session of the Council in the Kremlin. "Our ability to cooperate and remove obstacles in the way of our collaboration will determine the prosperity and progress on the vast areas of Eurasia", the president said. He pointed out that a unique experience of cooperation in economic and humanitarian spheres had been accumulated during last year. "The EAEC is gradually becoming the engine of the integration processes", he said, adding that Russia's partners are now taking interest in the organization. Then the president gave the floor to Council chairman Nursultan Nazarbayev. Kazakhstan's president announced that the trade volume within the organization had grown by $3 billion last year.
