Session Of Caspian Group Postponed

The session of the special working group on the Caspian Sea has been postponed by Turkmenia's request. The group was scheduled to convene in Moscow on December 18-19. According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, it had been supposed that deputy foreign ministers of the Caspian region states continue elaboration of the draft final document of the Caspian leaders' summit. However, the Turkmen Foreign Minister said yesterday that this was not necessary. According to Turkmen estimations, the draft has been virtually prepared, and the remaining aspects may be co-ordinated in the course of subsequent negotiations. The Iranian Foreign Minister spoke out in favour of postponing the negotiations owing to the Turkmen position. Its new timing will be agreed on additionally, the Russian Foreign ministry said.
