Ukraine Worried by Military Action in Iraq

Ukraine is worried by military action in Iraq, deputy secretary of Ukraine's National Security Council Sergei Pirozhkov announced in Moscow.

Pirozhkov is attending the sixth session of the Committee of Security Council Secretaries from member states of the Collective Security Treaty. Ukraine is present as an observer, since it is not a permanent member of the CST.

Just like other states, Ukraine has economic interests in Iraq, a country with vast oil reserves. A situation like this, naturally worries Ukraine, stressed Pirozhkov.

He also emphasized that his country supports peaceful means of solving all kinds of conflicts. Ukraine "believes it is still possible to resolve the crisis by diplomatic means," he said.
