The last time Obama visited Kenya in 2006, while being the Illinois Governor. During his travel to the African continent in 2013 he skipped Kenya and angered the authorities and population.

Some people however, are still dissatisfied with his visit, as gay marriages were legalized in the country.

Heavy protests have stirred up in the capital city of Nairobi before Obama visit in July 24-28.

The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya called on Obama not to advocate gay rights during his stay in the country, as gay sex is illegal and can be punished by up to 14 years in jail.

Alliance leader Bishop Mark Kariuki claimed, that homosexuality goes against moral values and sends the wrong message to youth. "So when Obama comes we are asking him to respect morals of the Kenyans, respect the faith of Kenyans," Kariuki said.
