Russian specialised agency takes part in international information technologies exhibition in India

The Federal Agency of Government Communication and Information (FAPSI) for the first time takes part in the international information technologies exhibition, which is a major exhibition in Asia and which is being held in Bangalore, the capital of the Indian Karnataka state.

Taking part in the "Bangalore I-T-Com-2002" fifth international exhibition are about 300 Indian and foreign companies from 17 countries, and enterprises, which are holders of the FAPSI license, -- the research-technical centre (NTTs) "Atlas" and "Ankad" company.

Specialists and visitors of the exhibition are very interested in the exposition. The local mass media believe it is explained by the fact that Russia participates in the exhibition for the first time and by the unique nature of exhibits.

The stand of "Atlas" NTTs, the oldest Russian enterprise which is engaged in creating the information protection means, shows, for instance, the protected GSM-K telephone which ensures confidential ties for police, interior ministry troops and the government in conflict situations in peace time. More than 100 such telephones are successfully used in Chechnya.

According to an NTTs representative, another exhibit is the system of holographic protection of documents, the main part of which are technologies for creating secret holograms developed in Russia. This is the Russian knowhow. The electronic identification cards with the use of Russian intellectual cards are also unique.

The "Ankad" company, for its part shows the family of cryptographic means for protection of information with the trade mark "Kripton". Designed to protect information in computers and computer network it realises the Russian federal cipher standards.

The local specialists point out that "Kripton" is a real alternative to western means of information protection, now used under the control of the US national security agency.
