Russia and Denmark are to fight crime together in the Council of Baltic Sea States, according to a statement made yesterday by Russian Interior Minister Boris Gryzlov. He announced that, during a meeting held yesterday in Moscow between the Russian Interior and Justice Ministers and an EU delegation, it was agreed that cooperation in the fight against crime needs to be intensified.
According to Gryzlov, the Danish delegates proposed 'raising cooperation to the level of joint operational groups' with Russia. The minister revealed that he supported the proposal and expressed the opinion that 'it will allow crimes committed on the territory of the Council of Baltic Sea States to be investigated more quickly.'
