World Cup helps prisoners escape

The security guards of a prison in the city of Sao Paulo were too preoccupied with the World Cup game with the participation of the Brazilian national squad. Their passion for soccer helped 17 prisoners to escape. The prisoners escaped during the time, when the Brazilian television was airing the match between Brazil and Turkey. The attention of all Brazilians including the security guards of that prison was engrossed to televisions. RIA Novosti informed that prisoners escaped on June 3 through the tunnel that they had dug before. However, the fugitives’ deed did not remain unnoticed and the persecution started very quickly: two of them were killed and four detained; the rest of them are being sought.
