Russian president Vladimir Putin has sent a message of congratulations to Kazakh leader Nursultan Nazarbayev on the national holiday, the Day of the Republic. According to the Kremlin press service, the message in part runs: "Having entered the second decade of its independence, brotherly Kazakhstan is marking the jubilee, boasting generally recognised achievements of the state development, social and economic reform. Vladimir Putin also stressed that having become a respectable and full-fledged member of the world community, Your republic is largely contributing to stronger and upgraded multilateral ties within the Eurasian economic community, the Collective Security Treaty, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Commonwealth of Independent States. In conclusion, the Russian head of state expressed firm conviction that strategic partnership, long-term mutually beneficial cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue consistent development in the interests of the two brotherly peoples.
